I am streaming HD 1280X720 via command line in VLC from a Hikvision IP camera. This works very well! But bandwidth is a problem.
vlc.exe -vvv -f --aspect 16:9 --no-video-title-show --rtsp-timeout=99999 rtsp://xxxxx:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@xx.xxx.xxx.98:8554/h264/ch1/main/av_stream
The camera allows to stream with SVC. Does VLC automatically detect a SVC stream, or do I need to specify in the command line that it is SVC and/or do I need a plugin.
Also I have asked Hikvision about H265 and am awaiting a reply from them. Do I need a plugin for H265 or would changing /h264/ to /h265/ be the only thing I need to do?
